iPhone | Jailbreak Your 2.2 firmware 2G or 3G iPhone with QuickPwn (Mac)

These are instructions on how to jailbreak your iPhone with QuickPwn. The instructions have been updated for the latest (2.2) version of the iPhone firmware.

Important***: Do not attempt these instructions for the 2.2 iPhone Firmware unless you don't care about software unlock in the future. Using QuickPwn with the 2.2 iPhone Firmware could reduce your chances of being able to unlock the iPhone 3G.

Step 1:
Create a folder on your desktop called Pwnage

Step 2:
Create “Pwnage" folder on the desktop and add the following files to it. Download QuickPwn 2.2 from here. Also, download the 2.2 firmware file for your 2G or 3G iPhone.
2.2.0 (2G): iPhone1,1_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw
2.2.0 (3G): iPhone1,2_2.2_5G77_Restore.ipsw



Step 3:
Mount QuickPwn by double clicking on QuickPwn_22.dmg and then drag the QuickPwn icon into the Pwnage folder.


Step 4:
Double click to launch “QuickPwn” from the Pwnage folder.




Step 5:
Click OK to accept the copyright notice.


Step 6:
Connect your iPhone to the computer and press the OK button on the window that appears.

Step 7:
QuickPwn will automatically detect the device once connected.


Step 8:
QuickPwn will now automatically search for the latest firmware for your device.


Step 9:
If you want to change the original boot logo, then select the “Custom Images” tab. Here, you can select the image which you want to replace with the original boot logo image. The image you select must have 320 * 480 resolution or below and they should be either in Grayscale format with Alpha channel or RGB format.
Select Yes or No to continue.


Step 10:
QuickPwn will now begin building your custom IPSW.


Step 11:
You will be asked to enter your administrator username and password. Do this, then click OK to continue.


Step 12:
QuickPwn will now help you put your iPhone into DFU mode. First, turn off the device.


Next, you will be asked to hold both the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.


Finally, you will release the power button and continue holding down the Home button for another 10 seconds.


Step 13:
QuickPwn will now automatically begin sending information to your iPhone.


Step 14:
You will now be notified that QuickPwn is modifying your iPhone. The process will take some time and will cause the iPhone to reboot. Don't do anything until the process has completed!


Step 15:
Once your iPhone has rebooted it will be jailbroken and have both Cydia and Installer on the Springboard!
