iPhone | Update and Jailbreak to 1.1.3 Firmware (MAC Version) 


After Apple officially launched 1.1.3 firmware, many iPhone users faced the problem of jailbreaking their iPhone. This tutorial will guide you on how to officially jailbreak and update to 1.1.3 iPhone firmware. Although, it is OK to use this tutorial for jailbreaking the 1.1.3 firmware but I highly recommend the users to read the Installer method after reading this tutorial and before performing any updates.

Please follow the instructions carefully and in a step by step manner.
Note: You must have 1.1.2 Jailbroken iPhone before performing any update. Also, be sure to update the Installer application.

Step 1:
The first step involves preparing your iPhone. Tap the “Settings icon on the iPhone present on the Springboard. Springboard is the home/main screen of your iPhone where you see all the application icons.


Step 2:
From “Settings”, tap the General Button as shown in the image.


Step 3:
From the options, select Auto-Lock option and set the Auto-Lock option to “Never”.




Step 4:
Now, press the Home button to return to Springboard.

Step 5:
Now, tap the Installer icon on the Springboard.


Step 6:
If a message appears that asks for Donation, then tap “Donate Later” to skip this message screen. If you like the application, feel free to donate.



Step 7:
Tap the Install button located in the bottom of the Installer application screen.


Step 8:
Now, select the System category to access more options.


Step 9:
Finally, select the “BSD Subsystemfrom the list of available packages. Press the Install button located on the top right corner to install the application on your iPhone.


Step 10:
Now, press the big Install button to start the installation.



INSTALLING JAILBREAK

Step 1
Here begins the actual jailbreak process. The first and the foremost step is to download the jailbreak files. You can download it here. Once downloaded, extract the file to some folder.


Step 2:
Launch “Fugu application present on the dock.


Step 3:
Now, in the “Connect to:” field, enter your iPhone’s IP address and in the “Username” field, enter root. Press the Connect button. If promoted for a password then enter “alpine” without quotes.


Step 4:
After you have successfully connected to your iPhone, you will find two panes, one on the left and the other on the right. Left pane shows the files present on your computer and the right pane shows the files present on your iPhone. Select / from the Remote Folder Menu visible on the right pane.




Step 5:
In the left pane window, locate your jailbreak-1.1.3 folder and select all the files and copy them to the right pane.
 



Step 6:
Launch the “Terminal” application from Applications > Utilities.


Step 7:
Now, you need to type the following command on the terminal window.

ssh root@192.168.0.100
(Remember to replace this ip address with your iPhone’s ip address)


Step 8:
If prompted for password, type “alpine” without quotes. Now, type the following command to start the installation process.

cd /
sh install.sh



Step 9:
Firmware will be downloaded from the Apple’s site and once completed, you may not notice any activity for a few minutes. Don’t panic, this is normal.

Step 10:
After a while, you will notice some activity and again the window will freeze for a few more minutes. This freezing process is normal and you might notice many activities on the screen. Entire process will take some time so you can relax back for few minutes. After the process is complete, the connection will terminate itself and your iPhone will reboot itself.






At last, you got a JailBroken iPhone with 1.1.3 firmware.
